What is an Exempt Market Dealer and why does it matter? Exempt Market Dealer (EMD) status defines a company licensed by the provincial Securities Commissions in Canada, to trade in or underwrite investment securities that are exempt from the prospectus requirement. This legislation ensures that the government has oversight and control to safeguard the investors' interests. Registration as an EMD will ensure investors receive regulator-approved guidance with respect to both the investment process as well as the suitability of the investment for the investor. Land Baron is in the process of ensuring our platform will be fully compliant with all applicable provincial and federal regulations.

Does Land Baron have EMD status? Land Baron is in the process of applying for an EMD status. Such oversight will provide our investors an additional layer of comfort with respect to their investment process and compliments our focus on integrity, transparency, and industry-best practices.

What happens after I place my order? After your orders have been successfully submitted, you will receive digital certificates in your profile that will show you details of your unit(s) of purchase.  

What are digital certificates? Digital certificates will detail the ownership of your unit(s) in the commercial real estate assets, as well as the book/current value of your unit(s) and the cash contributions. 

Can I trade my units? No, units will not be tradable. 

How often will the financial performance on my account be updated? Account balances will be updated every 3 months, on March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31. 

Are there any fees? Land Baron will charge a nominal management fee to the project for its services. The amount of this fee will be disclosed in the Offering Memorandum provided to public before any investment can be made.
